Robert's Game Page
I started playing games, like most people, as a kid.
Some of the early games that I enjoyed included all of the standards such as:
checkers, chess, and others such junk. As I got older my tastes began
to change, and I discovered games like Risk and Stratego. By the time
I was in Jr. High I had discovered what must be the ultimate game - Dungeons
& Dragons! I first discovered D&D in seventh grade.
I had received the basic edition boxed set for Christmas a couple of years earlier.
This was the first game I had every seen that allowed the participants to create
the game. You could do whatever you wanted to do. I was great!
This game also lead me to the best friends I have ever had.
As I got older my gaming began to branch out into games other
than D&D. My friends and I played Twilight: 2000, Star Frontiers,
Traveller, Traveller:2300, Mechwarrior, Battletech, Star Fleet Battles.
By the time I was married an living in my own place my gaming had moved to Magic:
the Gathering. Most of my gaming group moved away or got so busy that
they had no time for gaming.
I got even older (this is getting scary). My family
and I moved to Idaho (stop that laughing). This opened a whole new chapter in
my gaming. The gaming community in Boise was great. My friend
Lonnie and I joined a gaming club called SIG (I forget what it means).
We met a lot of great gamers and started playing some game that I never even
heard of at the time. I fell in love with Necromunda. I found out about
some cool games like WarZone and Mutant Chronicles. Alas, I had
to move back to Phoenix and I thought that my serious gaming had came to an
end.
About a year after returning to Phoenix I found a group of historical gamers
in the north valley. I took some time to actually hook up with this group
but it was worth the effort. This group is diverse enough that we should
always have some gaming projects in the works. Look below to see some of the
things that I am into. This isn't all the games that I play but it's a start!
